Terms of service

The services are provided by Ewa Kurowska, running a sole proprietorship under the business name Ewa Kurowska WORDS, Polish tax ID (NIP) 5842577205 (“I”).

• Client – a person who orders a service from me.
• Consumer – a natural person who orders a service not directly related to their business or profession.
• Sole trader with consumer rights – a person running a sole proprietorship for whom the contract is not of a professional nature (you can check this against the business activities listed in CEIDG, the Polish business register). They have the same right to withdraw from the contract as a consumer.
• Session – an online meeting with me, usually 60 minutes.
• Package – a set of sessions described in the pricing section at ekwords.com.

I run one-to-one English sessions: preparation for talks and job interviews, regular conversation and express sessions. Current packages, numbers of sessions and prices are listed in the pricing section at ekwords.com.

Prices in the pricing section are total prices – I don’t add any extra charges.

The free intro call (30 minutes, online) does not oblige you to buy anything.

All sessions take place online, via Google Meet or Zoom – I send you the link before the session. You need a computer or phone with internet access, a camera, a microphone and an up-to-date browser.

For companies, I prepare individual offers. Prices for companies are quoted net in the offer – I add VAT at the applicable rate. If a contract with a company says otherwise, that contract applies.

1. You choose a package – after the intro call, by email or by phone.
2. I send you a confirmation email: the package name, price, number of sessions, proposed dates, these terms and the withdrawal form.
3. The contract is concluded when you reply to that email and confirm your order.

The confirmation email is your confirmation of the contract on a durable medium – please keep it.

You pay by bank transfer to the account given in the confirmation email, before the first session of the package. For the Regular conversation package, you pay in advance for each month. After payment, I issue an invoice.

• We agree on session dates together.
• You can reschedule a session free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts – an email or text message is enough.
• If you cancel later or don’t show up, the session is lost and counts towards your package.
• If you’re late, the session still ends at the agreed time.
• If I have to cancel a session, I’ll offer a new date. If none suits you, I’ll refund that session.
• Sessions from the Talk preparation and Job interview packages must be used within 8 weeks of the contract, and sessions from the Regular conversation package within the given month.

• I record a session only if you ask me to. I share the recording only with you.
• Materials you give me (e.g. slides, CVs, scripts) are used only for our work together and are not shared with anyone.
• Materials I prepare are for your personal use. You may not distribute or sell them.

If you are a consumer or a sole trader with consumer rights, you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving a reason (Art. 27 of the Polish Consumer Rights Act).

How to withdraw. Send me a withdrawal statement – the easiest way is by email to kurowska.ewa@gmail.com. You can use the model form at the bottom of this page, but you don’t have to. It’s enough to send the statement before the 14 days are up.

Refund. I refund you within 14 days of receiving your statement, using the same payment method you used, unless you agree to a different one. You don’t pay any costs of the refund.

Sessions within the 14 days. We often start sooner, for example before an important talk. I start within the 14 days only at your express request, which you confirm in your reply to the order confirmation email, for example:

“I ask you to start the sessions before the 14-day withdrawal period ends. I understand that if I withdraw, I will pay for the sessions already held, and that once the whole service has been performed, I will lose my right of withdrawal.”

• If you withdraw after such a request, you pay only for the sessions already held – in proportion to the package price (Art. 35 of the Polish Consumer Rights Act). Example: a 3-session package for 900 PLN with 1 session held – you pay 300 PLN and I refund 600 PLN.
• If I perform the whole service within the 14 days (e.g. an express session), the right of withdrawal expires (Art. 38(1)(1) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act).

If something went wrong, email kurowska.ewa@gmail.com. Describe what the complaint is about and what you expect. I’ll reply by email within 14 days.

Let’s talk first – most issues can be sorted out by email.

If you are a consumer, you can also get free help from a municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or use out-of-court dispute resolution, e.g. at the Voivodeship Inspectorate of Trade Inspection (Wojewódzki Inspektorat Inspekcji Handlowej). How I process personal data is described in the privacy policy.

• I conclude contracts in Polish or English, under Polish law.
• These terms don’t limit any rights you have as a consumer under the law.
• When I change these terms, I’ll update them on the website and change the date at the top. Contracts concluded earlier are governed by the version in force on the day they were concluded.
• You can save or print these terms at any time.

This English version is provided for convenience. In case of differences, the Polish version prevails.
